*NITTO* high neck threadless stem (dull/25.4)

Japan’s renowned bicycle component manufacturer, NITTO.

The Nitto High Neck Threadless Stem, made exclusively for Blue Lug, is a chromoly steel threadless stem based on a classic Nitto design.

Its roots can be traced back to the UI-7, a model originally released through Nitto x Fairweather line more than a decade ago.

Based on this discontinued model, which has long been requested for a reissue, we’ve revisited the specifications to better suit modern bikes and handlebars, creating what could be considered a contemporary version of the original.

Its defining feature is, as the name suggests, its 72 mm stack height and high-neck design. The stem itself provides roughly the same additional height as adding around 30 mm of spacers to a conventional threadless stem.

When you want to raise the handlebar on a frame with a relatively short head tube, this stem lets you achieve a clean-looking cockpit without stacking multiple column spacers.

The stem angle remains -8°, just like the original UI-7.

The 25.4 mm handlebar clamp version is offered in 60, 80, 100, 120mm lengths, designed with handlebars featuring a generous backsweep in mind.

The handlebar clamp has been upgraded from the original two-bolt design to a four-bolt clamp. This provides increased clamping force, particularly when paired with wide handlebars or bars with a substantial backsweep.

On the steerer side, it retains the original's simple design, secured by a single bolt from the upper rear.

By keeping the bolt positioned exclusively on the upper side, the stem maintains a clean appearance even when additional spacers are installed underneath.

IMPORTANT: At least 70 mm of steerer tube must remain for installation. This stem cannot be used to extend the length of a fork steerer.

Installation: Adjust the spacers so that the top of the stem sits 2 mm above the end of the fork steerer tube.
