Ritchey, the legendary bicycle component company by Tom Ritchey

The “comp butano internal” is an aluminum drop bar characterized by its perfectly balanced drop flare, shallow drop, and short reach.

About 50 years ago, Tom Ritchey, his mentor Jobst Brandt, and a group of like-minded friends spent countless days riding remote trails and rough gravel roads around Butano State Park in Northern California.

The pioneering riding style they developed there became the inspiration for the Butano Handlebar.

The handlebar is designed to maximize comfort, featuring internal cable routing and an Ergo-Aero top section across the upper portion of the bar.

The drops flare out by a generous 18°, while the relatively shallow drop provides excellent control on both paved roads and gravel.

It’s made from lightweight, high-stiffness Triple-Butted 6066 Alloy.
