OVERVIEW
Introducing JOE APPALOOSA, a touring frame from Rivendell Bicycle Works.
The name comes from an American horse breed. The frame itself is noble, elegant, active, and tough just like the actual Appaloosa.
JOE APPALOOSA sits somewhere in between SAM HILLBORNE and HUNQUAPILLAR, by taking in the best of both worlds, and made into one heck of a road touring bike. By looking at the thickness of the fork pipe, and the tire clearance, you could really tell that the two are combined.
Thanks to the long chain stay and the wide wheel base, you will be able to experience a steady feeling, also the gentle seat tube angle will provide a comfy ride for the riders.
The slightly curved fork will ease your riding experience through rough and bumpy roads and will provide you incredibly light steering,.
You could immediately feel the toughness of Rivendell's frames when carrying heavy luggage or going down a hill.
While the bike is convenient for commuting, daily shopping, and your weekend outing, it’s never hesitant to take you to an adventure in the roughest wilderness.
The bike can wear a chunky 50mm tire if 700c wheels with fenders, 55mm without fenders! Capable of wearing 26” and 650b wheels, brings us back to the early days of mountain biking. Installing racks?, no problem. Dream whatever you can dream of, and the bike will fulfill it for you.
Lugged frame as usual. Like any other frame from Rivendell, you can ride it for your life, without worrying about sticking to market standards, the genre, or speedometer.
Fun fact, the handwritten "Joe" on the frame decal is by the daughter of Grant, the boss of RBW.
