The "official" insect cage for the MKS beetle bell.

Rhinoceros Beetles are popular among Japanese children, because of how cool they look.

These beetles are called "Kabutomushi" in Japanese. "kabuto" meaning "Samurai Helmet" and "mushi" meaning bug, so they are considered as tough and cool insects.

Going out and catching the beetles and keeping them in a clear cage and feeding watermelons to the insects are a traditional way of spending summer vacation for Japanese kids.

The MKS beetle bell looks just like the Kabutomushi so we had to do something fun with them and this is what we came up with...

You can buy them, but this mostly just for fun. Don't waste your money.

Of course you can keep real insects in the cage, but be sure to put actual dirt inside if you want to do so.
